Gilmore Electorate Boundary Change

Posted in Gilmore Updates on May 24, 2010 by Joanna Gash

It has been a long time since I have updated my blog - sincere apologies but we have been busy with the inherited boundary changes. Yes its true, Batemans Bay will no longer be in Gilmore instead I have been given (by the electoral commission) areas north of Kiama to Shellharbour Village.

There is no doubt that this will be difficult as it is a well known labor area, however we have had a number of Village Visits and I would like to thank the residents of the areas of Minnamurra, Kiama Downs, Jamberoo, Gainsborough, Shell cove, Flinders, Barrack Heights, Barrack Point and Shellharbour Village for the generosity of their welcome. We have also officially opened our office in Shellharbour Village ( 41 Addison St) - the Hon Julie Bishop Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs and Deputy Leader of the Opposition did the honours last week and as of the 9th of June it will be open Wednesday – Friday 10am -2pm. Once the current parliamentary sitting term sitting term finishes in July the office will be open Monday – Friday … Volunteers are always very welcome to assist!

Soon Bronwyn Bishop will be visiting the areas of Milton/Ulladulla, Bay and Basin and Kiama so keep an eye on my website for more details.
